Fire door inspections

Fire resisting door-sets are a vital passive fire protection measure and will be found in almost all buildings, predominantly to provide protection to escape routes. They are often subject to damage due to misuse or general wear and tear and must be kept in good order.

In most buildings, the fire protection is a legal obligation on the Responsible Person under both Building Regulations and to meet the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in England and Wales (and similar legislation in Scotland and Northern Ireland). Further legislation came into force in under the Fire Safety Regs 2022, making it mandatory for regular fire door inspections to be carried out in taller buildings. This legislation was drafted and following the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017.

Fire door inspections allow for remedial work to be identified and implemented as required.  The ultimate objective is to protect the fire escape, and keep residents safe. Findan Property Services can assist you with your building as required.
